We take great pleasure in  announcing a Wall of Honor Memorial committee initiated by Victoria Levinger Publisher of the Seven Lakes News,  in association with Ed Hill of Edward Hill Wealth Management, members of the Seven Lakes Business Guild and SL Beautification Commitee.


With the success of the Avenue of Flags which to date have over 170 individual honorees and 30 businesses participating, a Memorial Honor Wall to be erected at the Seven Lakes Cemetary/Chapel In The Pines and is tenatively planned to be dedicated for Veteran‘s Day in November.  In

addition, approximately 50 veterans that have been laid to rest at the cemetary will also be etched into the wall.


We would like to thank the Seven Lakes Cemetary/Chapel In The Pines for their gracious donation of property where the Wall Of Honor will be located.  A special thank you to Mike Barry who was instrumental in obtaining the property for residents to enjoy the Wall Of Honor in this tranquil setting.


Plans include a black granite wall, (future depiction in photo) with the honorees names to be etched into the wall with a few benches placed for viewing.  Honorees have all  provided service to our country by serving in the armed forces, past or present.


The wall will be designed and purchased from the Custom Monument Company located in Rockingham, NC. Plans include a polished granite wall to add to the reflective qualities of the stone.


If you would like to honor a member of your family or a friend and have a flag placed in their honor on Seven Lakes Drive on Memorial Day, July 4th and Veterans Day and be in the Seven Lakes News page honoring these men and women who have served our country, you can do so and also be included on the proposed new monument.  Deadline for July 4th is June 10

You can purchase a flag and pole for only $30.00 from Ed Hill by calling 910-466-9140, visit the Sandhills Winery and sign up with Colonel Tom Elliott US Army ret. or mail a check with the person you would like to honor to Seven Lakes News, PO Box 1191, West End, NC 27376.  If you wish to use a credit card you can call SLN at 910-685-0320.


The Veterans Day Ceremony  and the dediaction of the Wall Of Honor is planned for Saturday November 13th at 1 pm..  


The event will begin with an  invocation from Pastor Paul James of the Chapel In The Pines followed by the reading of veterans names inscribed on the black granite Wall Of Honor and concluded by a concert to be held on the green at Sandhilla Winery  featuring patriotic music.  It will be a free event for our entire community.
